In the painting Night Light a lone shrimpboat becomes the luminous anchor in a sea of darkness. The vessel's powerful lamps pierce the blackness, blazing with an intensity that transforms the surrounding water into a vibrant, shimmering tapestry of light. This brilliant focus of light is so concentrated it almost consumes the very boat from which it emanates, leaving it nearly dissolved in the glare.
