Charles H. Reinike III grew
up in New Orleans, LA
Edna Reinike grew up in Warner Robins, GA and later
Mobile, AL. They now live in Atlanta.
Charles and Edna Reinike are
the second generation of the Reinike Family to operate
this gallery that was begun by Charles’ parents
in 1930 in New Orleans, LA. (Charles and Edna have
owned the gallery since 1971 and moved it to Atlanta
in 1987.) They are a husband and wife team.
Charles is an artist, as were
both his parents and as are his two sisters.
Charles’ studio is behind the
gallery so visitors can enjoy works in progress.
Charles and Edna have warm friendships
with the artists whose works they exhibit. They
encourage the artists to get to know each other
and to enjoy each other’s works. The gallery shows
works of contemporary artists from across the country,
bringing talent to the area that might not otherwise
be seen in Atlanta. The gallery’s mission is to
present art that stimulates viewers to ask questions—to
see the world more completely and to find excitement
and inspiration from the experience. They intend
the gallery to be a setting where ideas are exchanged
among artists and art appreciators.
