O'Halloran Paintings Hanging In Gallery

Peter J. O'Halloran

Peter J. O'Halloran's paintings are almost magically real, yet upon close examination the brushstrokes reveal themselves.

Candles appear to glow. The smooth textures of polished stones become abstract patterns that appeal to the touch as well as to the eye.

O'Halloran's paintings are developed in series, but the concepts overlap. His earlier sushi paintings evolved into the series of pebbles. His Four Elements series evolved into a series of candles and later into his Sea Stripes series. His most recent series are still-;ofe paintings of objects purchased from thrift stores.

Each group relates to the other as the artist studies form and pattern, using representation as context for his study of visual elements.
