Alpha Totems III

Alpha Totems III is an elongated arched panel whose carved lower edge is ragged and chipped away. At the center of the upper portion, a circular portal reveals clouds and blue sky.

Below this opening, multiple alphabets descend vertically through the composition, their forms layered one beneath another. At the bottom, a field of brown contains a procession of primitive figures reminiscent of prehistoric cave drawings. Carrying bows and sticks, they move across the surface beneath the descending alphabets.

Carved wood, irregular edges, painted imagery, and varied symbols make the panel itself part of the story. The artwork brings together language, landscape, and the earliest marks of human expression within the arch.
