When painting on the streets, Sandusky starts by sketching the automobiles. It is not uncommon for him to be working on a painting when the driver gets into a car and drives away leaving the artist to continue without part of his scene.

Like a true Impressionist, Sandusky is faithful to what his eye perceives. Telephone poles, cars, and fences all are recorded, giving veracity to the scene.
